Due to their relatively low cost (compared to light aircraft) microlights have now enabled many people to help realise their dreams of flight.

Gone are the days when a microlight was a basic hang-glider with a noisy engine. At the top end the modern machine is a sophisticated aircraft which can take 2 people, their luggage, and can fly approximately 350 miles on 60 litres of fuel. Depending on the model, they trim to cruise at up to about 90mph and can have a top speed of 120mph. At the cheaper end the sub-70 machines offer enjoyable flying in a machine you can carry in a family car.
